Response to a bit I did in the guardian.
From The Ironic Times…
Two comments from first panel member James Ashford.
1. From his contribution ATL:
The comments from Gray and Keys were ignorant and they were offensive, they should have known better. The sad thing is that they’ve probably been saying this kind of thing throughout their careers, they just got caught this time.
2. From his Profile’s “Interests” segment:
The Rolling Stones, Kurt Vonnegut, plans on bits of paper, Keith Richards, free coasters, Clint Eastwood when he was ridiculously good looking, Carla Bruni, strobe lights, leather trousers, Brigitte Bardot when she’s naked/singing and not being islamophobic, etc.
So, Brigitte, enough with the thinking and expressing your point of view on issues like politics, and get yer clouts off! And what’s all this about Clint Eastwood, Carla Bruni, strobe lights and leather trousers? Is James really a man? I mean, a man representative of heterosexual men who comment here?
Oh! Jessica. And you call yourself an impartial referee?
I’m flattered you checked out my interests. The point was that I enjoy her music and image but not her Islampophobic views. I wouldn’t respect anyone with ignorant, prejudiced views. I don’t for, example, respect Keys and Gray because of their ignorant, prejudiced views.
Are you beginning to get it? Maybe you are prejudiced too, of course. I like Clint Eastwood because he’s good looking and talented, Carla Bruni because she’s good looking and talented and leather trousers because they make me look good looking and talented.
I like good looking and talented men, women and trousers because of what they are, not what sex they are. So yes, I’m ‘even a man’. Even a ‘heterosexual’ one, you’ll be relieved to hear.
