Today’s song: Heartbreak Hotel - Elvis Presley, a great track once again. I never used to like Elvis. I never used to like proper music though, and I certainly didn’t understand why some of it was incredibly important. Elvis was incredibly important. He became the biggest thing in music by singing the blues with his collar up. Elvis inspired young people to make bands. John Lennon said: ‘Nothing really affected me until I heard Elvis. If there hadn’t been an Elvis, there wouldn’t have been the Beatles.’
